This is the second work commissioned by happy saxophonist Toshihisa Ogushi.
Special activity is suggested at the beginning and middle of the song. With instruments in case, players come on stage to assemble the saxes, adjust reeds, warm up, and so on. Also make sounds with just the mouthpiece or neck (A). Then the tuning starts, but Alto Saxophone starts with A, Tenor Saxophone matches with Bb (B). Others also start tuning with random sounds after what's specified in the score. Group looks at each other like "What's this?" (C). They finally tune well at D, group smiles and starts main story.
Play the main theme funkily. The key is rhythm and groove. We are looking for groove like Earth Wind & Fire and Dazz Band. Pay close attention to sixteenth notes. They tend to be faster.
At [N], action is required again. Soprano Saxophone runs up and deliberately stops the last high tone. Repeat several times, adjusting the reed, saying, "That's strange." Meanwhile, other parts continue to have long tones. No matter how many times the Soprano tries, it's out of tune. Looking disappointed, other parts gradually stop playing, put instruments in cases and retreat to the side stage. Only the Soprano Saxophone remains on the stage. The player changes the height of the music stand and adjusts chairs. Then the high tone I'm going to recall everyone and start playing [O].
By perfecting the act, the performance will be fun and clever. Depending on the performance setting, you may omit the acting. In that case, start at 138 and cut [N].
