This piece was written to evoke the vibrant atmosphere of a grand music festival, the excitement of a celebration's opening, and the joy of young performers making music together. It is an accessible composition avoiding excessive technical difficulty, suitable for a wide range of performers.Composer: Tomohiro TatebeBorn in Niigata in 1957, Tatebe graduated from Komazawa University as a Japanese literature major. He studied Saxophone under Kazuo Tomioka and composition/arranging with Naohiro Iwai and Takashi Ueno. He produces wind chamber music and many arrangements and original works for wind band. He annually presents works to "Prosperous Future for Band into the 21st Century KYO-EN" as a member-composer.Major works include the concert march "Take Off" (1986 All Japan Band Competition test piece), "A Reminiscence of the Times" for Wind Orchestra (commissioned for the 30th anniversary of Ryukoku University Symphonic Band), "Suite on Celtic Folk Songs", "Dance Celebration" (commissioned for the 25th anniversary of Itoigawa Symphonic Band), "Intermezzo" (commissioned for the 15th anniversary of Niigata Wind Orchestra), Five Chapters for Trombone Quartet "On the Night of the Centaur Festival", "Prelude to a New Era" (Tokyo Trumpet Choir commission) and so on.He is an instructor of Tamagawa Academy Wind Orchestra, visiting director of Ryukoku University Symphonic Band, regular conductor of Itoigawa Symphonic Band, and music supervisor of Morioka Symphonic Band.
