Composed to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Kyoto University Band Association. The Association holds a joint concert every May. I have always been deeply impressed by the radiance of everyone involved, from the student officers supporting the event to the performers themselves - they are all brilliant every time I see them. This image of young university students, full of passion for wind music, inspired the title: Concert march “Brilliant Hours”. Musically, it is a brilliant and wholesome march. The key to a successful performance will be maintaining a good balance between the principal melody, the counter-melodies, and all other musical elements throughout the piece. Technically, it is well within the capabilities of any band at an intermediate level or higher.
