In 2019, I went to Santorini (also known as Thira) Greece for a two-week research trip as well as our honeymoon. Experiencing the beautiful world of only blue and white, also known as eternal longing, is a cherished memory for my wife and I, with the bright blue sky, the Aegean Sea, the blue domes, and the whitewashed houses lining the cliffs. The pink bougainvillea that was unaffected by the strong sun. The sunset from old castles. Akrotiri, where you can feel that the island is an active volcano. A donkey leisurely climbing up and down a cliff. Fresh seafood and delicious wine. I had wanted to compose a piece on Santorini, so I decided to present it at the 20th anniversary recital of Vive!, which has been with me since its foundation (led by my college classmate, Makoto Asari). Vive! has performed and recorded many of our commissioned works, including "The Dance in the Heat Haze", so I decided to try a style different from those works. I hope all will enjoy it.
