This piece was commissioned by the Shizuoka Gakuen Wind Orchestra, composed in November 2022, and premiered in 2023. Since that debut, Mr. Atsushi Ozawa has been playing many of my works, sharing them with other bands in Shizuoka and overseas where he teaches.
I am thankful to have opportunities to introduce new percussion ensembles to the world.

Simply put, an asterism is a group of multiple stars (fixed stars). Although different from the commonly known constellations, a variety of beautiful forms can be found. The Big Dipper and the Summer Triangle are the most famous asterisms. I chose this title because I felt that the word "asterism" overlaps with the world view of the work: shining stars in the night sky, shooting stars visible only for a moment, and sparkling stars at any time and serving as a guidepost.
The mysterious opening is a chorale song by mallet percussion. In the fast tempo section, exotic melody and rhythm will impress the audience.
The fascinating possibilities of percussion will continue to expand. Please look forward to more passionate works.
