When I began writing a piece for three Bb clarinets with the thought of gradation of similar timbres, it gradually became an image of star watching. As a result, I named it "On the Night of Centaur Festival".

The piece depicts scenes where Kenji Miyazawa's novel, "The Night of the Milky Way Train" begins. Since this is an ensemble of percussion and clarinets, pay close attention to balance.
