Tengu is a monster in a Yamabushi (mountain priest)'s clothes with a red face, high nose and wings, wearing Japanese tall clogs, and flying in the sky. The well-known figure of a tengu looks like this. However, depending on the time and custom, how to view the tengu is completely different. A monster, mischievous schemer, mountain god, and shining bird. In this work, the tengu is regarded as "the holder of mysterious power". He takes off powerfully and causes a divine phenomenon.

The glissando of the horn represents Yamabushi's trumpet shell, and sudden modulations and dynamic changes are a kind of "surprise". Overall, this requires high technique.

Commissioned by Iwaki High School Wind Orchestra, Fukushima in 2010.
