1 Marimba (played by 3 marimbists)

Premiered at the 2008 Tokyo University of the Arts Percussion Concert.

The general marimba ensemble uses 3 to 4 marimbas on stage, but in this work, three people share one marimba.

The theme is "Japanese". Shishi Kagura and Matsuri-bayashi offer the nostalgia of the Japanese people. I hope you will enjoy what it sounds like in a marimba.

In the beginning, forget that marimba is the mallet percussion and strike like Japanese drums. It will be crowded with three players on one marimba, so angle your body so that each can play comfortably.

Freely interpret the tempo and tone in the middle part and create the sound thinking about the scene.

Play powerful and vigorous at the end. The shout "Ha!" is important to conclude the piece, so offer it boldly!

The charm of this song also lies in its visual appeal, so memorizing the score will enhance visual expressive freedom for a wonderful performance.
