This is a part of the Vive! Saxophone Quartet commissioning project. "Sonatine" means "small sonata". It is not as strict in form as a sonata but it still follows a structure. On the other hand, "Love" is something that has no specific form. The aim for the work was to give a bit of direction to unstructured love; it reveals many unique elements of the emotion. The music progresses uninterrupted for about nine minutes. Imagine all different shapes and forms of love as you perform this piece.

Special thanks to Makoto Asari, baritone saxophone player and good friend since we were students at Musashino Academia Musicae.
