Commissioned by Bridgestone Symphonic Band Kurume in 2013.
Zelkova is called "Keyaki" in Japanese, which is the city tree of Kurume, Japan. There is a road lined with keyaki trees in front of the Bridgestone tire plant. Its scenery beautifully reflects the four seasons, especially the magnificent sight of the keyaki tunnel. This work depicts that scenery and the people these keyaki trees have seen and will continue to shade in the future. Globally, there are zelkovias that are more than 1000 years old. Imagine this work as an anthem to that life energy and people's thoughts and memories shared with those great trees.
