This delightful romp through Fields of Sunflower is very Russian, poignant and easy to prepare for three or more players. Expertly balanced by the composer, fun for a small chamber group to rehearse and enjoy.

The medley includes Korobeiniki, Troika, and Kalinka. Well-known in Japan, the songs are used in education, broadcast, and for the video game Tetris. Also, sunflower is Russia's national flower.

To achieve tempo changes (and consistencies), count time firmly, and consider clapping or singing to better internalize time. Also, as songs are in minor modes, many flats are indicated. Give careful attention when reading. Though, fingerings are not difficult for these keys.

Suggested formations include brass trio with trumpet, trombone and euphonium, clarinet trio, or saxophone trio. Basically, it is desirable use similar instrument types, but in case of mixed voices, pay close attention to part balance.
