Since the band version "Sakura Song" (2011) became a required test piece for the All-Japan Band Competition, I am truly happy that this song has been loved by so many people to this day.
Many requests have been made for other settings, including demand for quartet performances, so we decided to create a flexible quartet version for low and mid-ranged instruments. Bassoon, French horn, trombone, tuba, euphonium quartet, woodwind + contrabass, brass quartet, woodwind + brass, etc. can be combined. You may work on it with a double quartet or ensemble.
I appreciate many valuable opinions to balance instrumentation and make best use of the character of the above groupings. I wish to thank Masaaki Ito and Ryutaro Takai for the production of the euphonium-tuba version, and Keigo Wada and Norikazu Naoi for the production of the trombone version.
