Matsumoto Flute Ensemble 10th Anniversary Subscription Concert commission.

I have been visiting Nagano almost every year to experience the band culture in the state. There I met Mr. Kazuyo Saruta, music director of Matsumoto Flute Ensemble. This friendship inspired me to write this work.
"Divertimento" originally refers to a kind of instrumental suite written from the middle of the 18th century. Most divertimenti known today consist of relatively short movements, 4-10 songs, for small ensembles. This work was also requested to be "a part of the wider repertoire of flute sextets" as six suites utilizing classical musical grammar. We would appreciate it if you could present each individual piece with its own unique character.
