This commission was completed in May 2022 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of LINE-T Saxophone Ensemble. They have performed my works "The Dance in the Heat Haze" and "Arion's Harp"(both published by Brain Co.), and I happily accepted their request.
The title "H?ritage" (meaning "something handed down") was carefully chosen after consideration by members of the team, led by Masamichi Tezuka, leader. Due to COVID19, we discussed the work via e-mail and Zoom. Based upon their request to "include pleasant chords to play and a beautiful melody," I tried to create a piece that celebrates the group's ten-year history and emphasizes the members' characteristics.
