"Commissioned by Taiwan Philharmonic Principal Timpanist Ya-Wen Lien, May, 2009. Premiered at the Taiwan Concert Tour (City of Taichung, Hsinchu, Keelung, and Taipei) by Takayoshi Yoshioka & Ya-Wen Lien Percussion Ensemble. This has the style of a ""double concerto"" for marimba and timpani, and consists of two parts in a single movement. The first part is the process of ""starting"" with the motif of a slightly slower bolero rhythm and a diminished chord on a perfect fourth and fifth. After passing through the marimba and timpani cadenzas, the second part turns around and the rhythmic melody plus good rhythm progresses to ""transition-yui"". After the second cadenza by marimba and timpani, the song ends with an enthusiastic bass drum pattern of eighth notes."
