This piece was originally created in 2004 as a brass octet, combining the Okinawan folk songs Teach-Tearu and Tinsagu nu Hana, in response to a request to reinterpret these traditional melodies in a jazz style. In 2007, for an overseas performance by the Tokyo Clarinet Choir, a third folk tune, Tokkui Gwa yo, was added and the work was rearranged for clarinet ensemble. Then in 2008, it was further arranged into its current wind band version for the annual concert of Saitama Prefectural Yono High School.
