This piece is a revision of my earlier percussion octet, written in 2011, now arranged for quintet.
The piece was inspired by the ruins and cultural heritage found in Yoshimi Town, Saitama Prefecture. It centers around one temple's legend of the "Wild Tiger", weaving a narrative of the tiger through various themes including "Luminous Moss," "Tiger," "Korobokkuru," "Battle," "Nio Statues," and "Transom," which gradually intersect.

When arranging the piece for quintet, I chose to associate the five instruments with the concept of the "Five Elements" (gogyo), reflecting the Buddhist concept connected to the temple story that inspired the piece. Beyond that, the title also expresses the joy of five musicians journeying together through music.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to percussionist Daisuke Yamaguchi, who commissioned this arrangement and generously contributed many creative ideas.
