Mozart (1756-1791) wrote many operas such as The Marriage of Figaro and Don Giovanni, and among these, The Magic Flute was his final. It was created for a popular suburban theatre where ordinary people could enjoy the performance, and it was an immediate sensation at its premiere.
The story of The Magic Flute is a fairy tale that is visually enchanting, and above all it has many famous arias with memorable melodies.
This selection includes "Overture", "I am the bird-catcher", " March (The trial by fire and water)", "A cuddly wife or sweetheart", "the Queen of the Night's aria (The wrath of hell)", and "Finale."
Technically this music is not so difficult, and it can be played by a small ensemble of fewer than twenty people. I hope you will enjoy performing each selection while capturing its individual character.
